Percy Romeo Miller popularly known by his stage name as Lil Romeo is a famous American rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, entrepreneur and a model. He is the son of American rapper and entrepreneur Master P and former rapper Sonya C. He is the nephew of rappers C-Murder and Silkk the Shocker, cousin of producer, singer and rapper Mo B. Dick and the brother of singer and actress Cymphoniquer Miller.
He was born on 19th August 1989 in New Orleans, Louisiana in the United States of America. He is currently 29 years old. Lil Romeo was signed to No Limit’s subsidiary label Soulja Music Entertainment at the age of 5 years old, after he wrote a rap song to his father Master P. Lil Romeo attended Beverly Hills High School and University of Southern California, both in the United States of America.
Lil Romeo gained fame as a rapper in the early 2000s after signing with No Limit Records, a record label which was owned by his father, Master P. He started his music career with the stage name Lil Romeo and released his first debut single “My Baby” in 2001, which went on to be certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Later that same year, Lil Romeo released his first debut studio album “Lil’ Romeo” which charted the US Billboard 200 at number six and went on to be certified gold, selling over 500,000 copies worldwide. In 2002, Lil Romeo released his second debut studio album titled “Game Time” which charted the US Billboard 200 at number thirty-three.
In 2004, Lil Romeo released his third debut studio album “Romeoland” which charted on the US Billboard 200 at number seventy. In 2006, Lil Romeo released his digital album titled “Lottery” it was his first album released with his name changed from Lil Romeo to Romeo. In 2006, Lil Romeo released the soundtrack to his film “God’s Gift” it was his first album to be explicit.
In 2007, Lil Romeo was offered a scholarship to play basketball for the USC Trojans at the University of Southern California in the United States of America. Lil Romeo would play for the team until he was let go before his junior season in 2010.
Aside from music, Lil Romeo has also worked as an actor, beginning in 2002, when Nickelodeon offered him his own show titled “Romeo!” The show was successful on the network and went on to run for three seasons. In 2011, Lil Romeo starred in the film “Jumping the Broom” and in 2012, he star in Tyler Perry’s film “Madea’s Witness Protection”.
Lil Romeo is the founder of the record labels Guttar Music, Take A Stand, The Next Generation and his current record label “No Limit Forever”. On 27th December 2010, Lil Romeo modeled for a new 2011 calendar. On 10th April 2011, Lil Romeo modeled for the April issue of TROIX Magazine. On 12th April 2011, Lil Romeo modeled again for some new pictures.
On 24th July 2010, Lil Romeo launched his own clothing line titled “College Boys”. The brand has been promoted by Lil Remeo and his new group known as the “College Boys” which comprises of artists such as Justin Bieber, Jaden Smith and Big Time Rush.
Lil Romeo in the cause of his career as a hip hop rapper and a television actor has won so many awards which include Rap Artist of the Year at the Billboard Music Awards, Favorite Male Singer at the Kids Choice Awards, Favorite Television Actor at the Teen Choice Awards, Best Performance in TV Series at the Young Artist Awards, Best Comedic Performance at the NAMIC Vision Awards, Outstanding Performance in a Youth/Children’s Program at the Image Awards, amongst others.
